Human beings in service to human beings, a recipe for growth and learning. We can put a lot of structures and systems into place; visions of accomplishing goals and delivering tangible results. However, it appears that the most potent aspect of human services is not found in the tangible world, but rather is deeply felt in the space between us.  Most teams, no matter the social sector, are populated with a broad diversity of mindsets; education, health care, criminal justice, commerce and faith-based organizations are all primed with conflicting values, culture and priorities to manage. The cognitive dissonance that takes over can be subversive and insidious or arise as a seemingly blatant saboteur... usually somewhere in between we feel it.

In schools things have become increasingly challenging. Sometimes it feels like blame is the name of the game.

  1. Those teachers!

  2. That parent!

  3. These kids are so entitled!

  4. Congress is clueless!

  5. I just don't know how much longer I can do this!
