Service Description
Community care in regards to climate reality and our shift towards earth stewardship. Are you feeling anxious and overwhelmed about climate change? Nervous or worried about the future of our world? There are a lot of things happening right now that can cause a whole cascade of difficult thoughts and emotions. The Good Grief Network has created a lovely 10-step journey for cultivating more resilience. Beth Sarver of Breathing Room KC will be providing online support groups, launching the first Sunday in May. The first meeting is an introduction and will include a ceremony of commitment to the journey. The following 10 sessions are each a step on the Good Grief Journey. You should bring a candle w/ matches, a journal or something to write on. What is the Good Grief Network? The Good Grief Network offers an opportunity where individuals can build resilience that empowers us to face the challenges of these overwhelming systemic issues without succumbing to numbness, despair, or denial. This work is about embracing and navigating vulnerability, our heavy human emotions, and the pain of living in a destructive culture. This step program is loosely based on the Twelve Steps (adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous), where we try, little by little, one day at a time, to apply to our lives." Step 1 Accept The Severity of the Predicament Step 2 Acknowledge That I Am Part Of The Problem & The Solution Step 3 Practice Being With Uncertainty Step 4 Honor My Own Mortality & The Mortality Of All Step 5 Do Inner Work Step 6 Develop Awareness of Brain Patterns & Perception Step 7 Practice Gratitude Step 8 Take Breaks & Rest As Needed Step 9 Show Up Step 10 Reinvest Myself Into Meaningful Efforts
